Lois Pryce (born 13 January 1973) is a British author, journalist and a founder/curator of the Adventure Travel Film Festival. She is the author of Lois on the Loose, Red Tape & White Knuckles and Revolutionary Ride, travel memoirs about her solo motorcycle journeys through the Americas, Africa and Iran.On April 30th 2003 Lois left behind the comforts of her cosy houseboat in London and her job at the BBC to motorcycle the length of the Americas on her Yamaha XT225 Serow. Her route took her 20,000 miles from Anchorage, Alaska to Ushuaia at the tip of Argentina, the most southerly place in the world that can be reached by road. On October 14th 2006 she left the UK to ride the length of Africa. She’d always fancied the challenge of motorcycling across the Dark Continent and it certainly turned out to be an adventure. Ten-thousand miles and four months later she rolled into Cape Town, just about it one piece! When not on the road Lois is usually out and about somewhere giving talks and presentations to all sorts of organisations, from schools and businesses to book festivals and bike clubs all over the UK and beyond. Whether you’re after some hair-raising tales from the road to rev up your fellow riders, an example of real-life girl power to spur on your pupils, an inspirational story of achieving your wildest dreams to motivate your employees, or you’re just after some unique after-dinner yarns, Lois can cater for your every need! Her presentations are informal, entertaining and honest, and feature photography from her journeys. They can be adapted to a variety of audiences and no group is too large or too small
