Jan Meek Jan is an amazing woman, she has become one of the most successful and sought-after speakers on the circuit in Britain and has also successfully toured Canada with her charismatic presentation. Jan's life reflects a history of challenge. In 1982, having been recently widowed, she took a year out and studied Chinese at the university of Taiwan. She followed this by back packing round China for 3 months then Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Hawaii, and Los Angeles. Seeking further challenges she ran two of her own businesses, a children's boutique and a restaurant where she was the chef. Seeking the adventure of a lifetime Jan and her son Daniel entered the Longest Rowing Race Ever, a remarkable voyage which took a lot more than mere courage and determination. Their main aim was to enjoy themselves whilst rowing the 3044 miles across the Atlantic. They celebrated Jan's birthday, Christmas and New Year en-route, swapping anecdotes over a gin and tonic. They returned to a heroes welcome with interviews for articles in the Sunday Times Magazine, The Daily Mail and News of the World's Sunday Magazine. Jan is both an amusing and inspirational speaker with a fund of fascinating stories. |
