Rohit Talwar

Rohit is an award winning futurist speaker, entrepreneur, specialist advisor and strategic change agent and the founder of the research and consultancy organization Fast Future. He was nominated as one the top ten global future thinkers by the UK’s Independent newspaper. He spends his time traveling the world researching the ideas that will shape the future and meeting the people and organizations behind them. Roger Bootle 

One of the City of London’s best-known economists, Roger Bootle runs the consultancy, Capital Economics, which specialises in macroeconomics and the economics of the property market. He is also Economic Adviser to Deloitte, a Specialist Adviser to the House of Commons Treasury Committee and an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. He was formerly Group Chief Economist of HSBC and, before the change of government, he was appointed one of the Chancellor’s panel of Independent Economic Advisers, the so-called "Wise Men". Roger Bootle studied at Oxford University and then became a Lecturer in Economics at St Anne’s College, Oxford. Most of his subsequent career has been spent in the City of London. He has written many articles and several books on monetary economics. His most recent book is Money for Nothing which correctly anticipated the current financial crisis and has been widely acclaimed. This follows the success of The Death of Inflation, published in 1996, which became a best-seller and was subsequently translated into nine languages. Initially dismissed as extreme, The Death of Inflation is now widely recognised as prophetic. Roger is also joint author of the book Theory of Money, and author of Index-Linked Gilts. Roger is a regular columnist for The Daily Telegraph and appears frequently on television and radio.

Ruth Badger

After an early career in financial services, Ruth Badger made a big impression on The Apprentice. Described by The Times as "the best saleswoman in the country", she was widely praised for her fearlessness. Ruth confesses her desire for money and recognition, and offers her recipe for business success: improving productivity, reducing costs and boosting staff confidence. Matthew Bannister

In a distinguished managerial career at the BBC, Matthew was Chief Executive of Production, Director of Radio and Director of Marketing and Communication. As Controller of BBC Radio 1 between 1993 and 1998, he re-positioned the network at the cutting edge of new music and attracted a new, younger audience. Matthew chairs conferences and seminars and is a highly skilled conference facilitator and after dinner speaker. He has a wealth of experience hosting events and award ceremonies, both at home and abroad.

 

Rupert Gavin

With a clearly defined multi-media strategy, Rupert steered BBC sales to £640m by taking single ideas across many different formats and business partnerships across the world. He previously headed BT’s Consumer Division, and before that served as Deputy MD of Dixons Stores, running UK and Far East Operations.

Mike Harris

Mike Harris co-founded Egg Plc, one of the UK's leading Internet banks, in 1998 and served as executive vice-chairmen. Egg's success and profile set the agenda for the financial services industry and inspired a series of imitators. Mike is seen as a European leader in developing a successful open-finance model for the New Economy. He has served on several Government committees concerned with the transformation of public services and is a board member of The Club of Budapest, a think tank on the impact of the New Economy on society. Currently, Mike is Executive Chairman of garlik, a new company applying innovative semantic web technology to a mass-market consumer service and giving individuals real power over the use of their personal information in the digital world.

Fru Hazlitt

Fru Hazlitt is Chief Executive of Virgin Radio and is a firm believer that creativity and programming should lead, with sales and marketing supporting a radio station's output. Fru has more than 18 years of sales and marketing experience within the media sector across Magazines, Newspapers and Radio most notably at the Guardian Media Group and Capital Radio. Prior to joining Virgin Radio she was Managing Director of Yahoo! UK, joining in March 2000 as European Sales Director and going on to become Director for Sales and Marketing responsible for Yahoo! across nine countries in Europe. Fru is a non executive board director of Betfair and Woolworths plc and is a regular speaker at business forums and seminars. She is a member of the Government's Digital Inclusion Panel and was named by the CBI as UK's First Woman of Media.

 

Brent Hoberman

Brent co-founded lastminute.com in April 1998, with Martha Lane Fox, in the living room of his London flat three years after having drafted the initial idea. Ten years on the company is the number one travel website in Europe and was acquired by Travelocity Europe for $1.1 billion, a division of Sabre Holdings Corporation on 20th July 2005. Brent is a Governor of the University of the Arts College, London and a Non-Executive Board Director of Guardian Media Group. From January 2007 he took on the role of Non-Executive Chairman of wayn.com - a travel and leisure social network with over 10 million members.  He is also an angel investor in several internet companies including Viagogo, Wayn.com and moveme.com.
